Open Mic’s at Groton are a great opportunity for students to showcase their talents and for others to support them. I try to go to at least a few of them every year!
This weekend, my friend Creed ’22 performed an original song. Another friend, Griffin ’22 did as well. I also love being able to listen to students I don’t know very well, and it is amazing to see how talented everyone is, whether they are reciting a poem, singing a song they wrote, or doing a cover of a song with friends.
Open Mic’s are usually held in the Gammons Recital Hall, and the school has large pillows which people can use to sit on. The cozy room filled with students and teachers has a magical ambience!
