Only at Groton could someone feel like they were everywhere in the world in an instant. For me, that instant was this year’s Cultural Day.
I spent the night helping run both my roommate’s Vietnam table and my friend’s Mexico table. For the Vietnam table, my roommate, our friend, and I collected milk and fruit to make the traditional drink ché. For the Mexico table, my friend and I collected jicama and chile and served them to our visitors along with red cups of agua fresca. This experience truly made Cultural Day one of my core Groton memories, allowing me to learn about my friends’ cultures and lives outside of school.
