Groton Wins in OT
After a slow start and heading into the 3rd period down 2-0, the Zebras knew they needed to find a way to get things going. Tina Scalese '26 stepped up right away and got the scoring started on a breakaway early in the third period. Karenna Beckstein '23 buried a PP goal midway through the third to ties things up at 2-2. The momentum quickly shifted and it carried over into the OT as Groton continued to hunt pucks all over the ice.
With under 2 minutes left in the OT, Scalese rushed the puck down the wall and beat the D wide to find a wide open Maddie Cronan '25 in front who scored the GWG! It was a solid performance by the entire team - especially the strong D play from Keira Ley '24, Karenna Beckstein '23, Lulu Jerrett '24, and Sydney Nelson '26.
Veronika Hadamovsky '24 picked up her 15th win of the season by kicking out 18 saves in the win. Next up, St. Mark's on Saturday in the OB at 2pm.
