Groton Wins the Battle of Groton
Groton opened up their second half of the season against a good and experienced LA group. Keira Ley '24 opened up the scoring on the very first shift with a blast from the tops of the circles making it 1-0. LA hung tight and scored late in the first to tie things up at 1-1. It was back and forth throughout the second until Maddie Cronan '25 buried a PP goal (and the eventual GWG) to take a 2-1 lead.
The Zebras kept the pressure on and Tina Scalese '26 buried her 12th goal of the season and sealing the victory at 3-1. Veronika Hadamovsky '24 closed the door and kicked out 15 saves in the W.
It's a quick turnaround as the girls travel down to Boston tomorrow to play against defending NE Champ BB&N at 4:30pm.
