Groton Falls to KUA

Given a short bench due to injuries and other commitments - the girls headed north to play against an older and experienced KUA squad. Only having one practice under our feet - the girls' effort and determination throughout the game was admirable. Going down 2-0 after one, 3-0 early in the second, the group started to click and put things together. At times, dominating the game and controlling much of the play throughout the period.

Christina Scalese '26 picked up her first goal of the season (and career!) on a PPG - with assists coming from Grace Crowley '22 and Georgia Gund '23. The momentum continued in our favor as Scalese entered the zone and tossed a pass across to Kiely Murphy '25, who deflected it to Crowley, who beat the goaltender with a great move to close the game to 3-2 (Grace's first career goal!).

Unfortunately, even though the play favored Groton's ways at times - a few lucky bounces for KUA helped them seal the win with a 5-2 victory.

Groton has a week of preparation before heading to Marion, MA and taking on Tabor Academy next Saturday in their ISL opener.
