Skip Day has been a Groton School tradition since October 1996. It was intended—and continues—to be a day for students to catch up on sleep and homework, with no off-campus trips, and the option to visit faculty for extra help.

Rob Knapp '62 wrote the following about last spring's article in the Peabody Press that covered a school speaker on nuclear fusion:
Fusion power has been described as near breakthrough for my entire professional life in physics (Ph.D. 1968). Industry insiders now say first power into the grid will not be until 2035. This puzzle has a lot of pieces, so expect still further delays. And meanwhile, notice how much energy efficiency and renewable energy are already providing and how rapidly they continue to develop and spread.
