Day 15&16 - Travel Back Home

The day started in a bittersweet fashion with hugs and farewells to our host families. We reminisced on the meaningful time we had spent together in Ollataytambo, packed onto our bus, and headed for Cuzco. Passing by countryside and mountains, we made stops at various attractions such as Tambomachay, Puka Pukara, Sacsayhuamán, an alpaca farm, and finally, lunch at the magnificent Tunupa restaurant. We settled into our hotel rooms and enjoyed the luxury of the city. We prepared for our last dinner together, where we enjoyed a show, dancing, and great food. We ended the night, and the trip, spending time together in the hotel and savoring every minute we had left. The next morning, all of us enjoyed the continental breakfast in the hotel lobby and quickly got our things packed and out of the rooms. We were lucky enough to fit one last trip to the Qorikancha Site museum where we admired ancient and modern art alike. Afterwards, we were given time to explore Cuzco and enjoy lunch together. By 3:45 our day in Cuzco came to an end and we headed towards the airport to begin our travel back home.
