Out on the Town!

Two weeks ago, the students of Groton School dispersed across the globe for Winter Long Weekend, ready for some R&R.
Every term, we get a long weekend where we either go home or stay on campus if permitted for three days (four for winter).

This Winter Long Weekend, I went home as usual. However, I brought my friend home with me. Another friend lived about five minutes from me and went home with our other friend. All four of us in the same town for the weekend made it so we could easily hang out. The four of us truly displayed our Groton intelligence with this plan!

On the day of departure, my mom had to work late, so I conveniently did not have to pack until classes were complete and most of my peers had already left. Once my things were packed, I chilled in my dorm room with my friend and my brother, chatting until my mom came to pick us up.

I took a glorious nap during the car ride and went to bed early that night. I slept until late in the morning before finally waking up. I didn’t do much the whole day, and my friend and I watched a movie before bed. It was Everything, Everywhere, All at Once, which I highly recommend.

The next day was our day out on the town! We met up with our two friends at our other friend's house and relaxed in her bedroom until we started our activities for the day. We went to a Korean hotdog place for Korean hotdogs and loaded fries on the side. I’ll be honest: I was nervous. I had never had this kind of hotdog before and wasn’t sure if I would like it. Luckily, I was wrong. It was delicious.

We followed up the hotdogs with milkshakes at a nearby restaurant. We got the specialty milkshakes. They came with full deserts on top, whipped cream, and cookie-coated rims. They were so good!

With all our stomachs stuffed, we began walking down the street, looking into different shops, sometimes stopping to go inside. During one of our stops, we all made a clothing item purchase. I got a pair of baggy pants similar to an online option I had been eyeing. Needless to say, I was excited.

My friend’s mom came to pick us up and bring us back to their house, where we hung out for a couple more hours. With all of us sprawled on her bed, we listened to our favorite songs and talked and joked. And then we went downstairs for dinner prepared by her mom. The food was... delicious; The vibes were... immaculate!

When the day had come to a close, her mom dropped us two off back at my house. We were thoroughly exhausted but very content. 10/10 day!
