Home Opener

The Groton Varsity Field Hockey team traveled to St. Paul's for their first game of the season on a beautiful September day. The girls had been working hard all week and were excited to finally "start" the season. St. Paul's scored first and maintained a 1-0 lead at the half. However, the Groton squad came out strong and scored three unanswered goals to take the lead 3-1 heading into the final quarter. St. Paul's then climbed their way back, tying the game 3-3. The two teams continued to battle until a goal by Groton with three minutes left in the game, giving Groton the 4-3 victory.
