English Teacher

Groton School invites applicants for a full-time English position starting September 2019. We are seeking a dynamic candidate with a strong interest in writing pedagogy and in teaching literature from a wide range of periods, voices, and cultures. The successful candidate will join a department committed to the school’s ideals of diversity and inclusion. Responsibilities will include teaching four courses of English in collaboration with other experienced members of the department.

Faculty members are also expected to contribute to the extracurricular life of the school and share some dormitory and residential school responsibilities. Qualifications, therefore, include a demonstrated interest in coaching or coordinating extracurricular activities and a willingness to fulfill evening and weekend duties.

Teachers are provided with living quarters, meals in the school Dining Hall, utilities (except for telephone), and medical insurance.
