Groton Graduate Earns Princeton Academic Honors

Princeton University has awarded Julia Metzger, a 2011 graduate of Groton School, two of its highest academic honors.
She received the Freshman First Honor Prize, given to a sophomore in recognition of exceptional academic achievement during freshman year, and the Shapiro Prize, which recognizes academic achievement among freshmen and sophomores.

Julia, a molecular biology major, also received recognition for outstanding achievement while at Groton. On Prize Day, the School's commencement, she received the Modern Language Department Prize and the Thorpe Science Prize. She headed to Princeton in 2012, after taking a gap year.
