Snow Day!

Though we had several days below freezing temperatures, Groton hadn’t truly had a snow day––that is, until two Sundays ago.
Though we had several days below freezing temperatures, Groton hadn’t truly had a snow day––that is, until two Sundays ago. Returning home after a triumphant 3-2 victory over Brooks, we all saw the first flurries of snow, but it wasn’t until Sunday morning that the reality truly set in: it was a Groton snow day.
My roommates and I geared up in what little ill-fitting snow clothes we could find. Boots, mismatched gloves, and improvised face coverings were all thrown on, and we quickly made our way down to the sledding hill near the Athletic Center. The snow wasn’t quite packed down yet, but we did what we could, until Eric decided to hurl a snowball at the back of Evan’s head.
What started as a sledding session quickly became a combination of a snowball fight and WWE. Alliances were made and broken, Arjun did his best impression of Switzerland (until I tackled him into a snowbank that was taller than he was––about 5 feet… not a high bar to clear), and we spent the rest of the afternoon fighting in the snow, sleds all but forgotten.
Then came the best news. After we had all showered and gotten hot chocolate from the Dining Hall, I got an email: No US History homework tomorrow. A Sunday without work? That’s the best Sunday you can ask for at Groton.
