All sports offer a Varsity and JV team, and most offer a Thirds team, as well, allowing the program to cater to highly experienced athletes, as well as to novice players. The strong tradition of excellence in Groton's academic program carries over to the playing fields, where Groton teams are league contenders, and often champions, year after year. The collaboration and cooperation demanded by team sports, the growth and development that stems from testing athletic talents and skills directly against those of others, and the development of personal character forged in competitive games and races has always been part of Groton athletics. |
